Soul System
The soul system is the core survival mechanic on Soulwyn. Every death carries real weight because your soul points are finite, and losing them all means temporary exile from the server.
Overview
Every player begins their journey with 10 soul points, which is also the maximum. Soul points represent your connection to the world. As long as you have at least 1 soul point, you can continue playing. When your soul points reach zero, you experience a Soul Shatter and are temporarily banned from the server.
Death Penalty
Every death, regardless of cause, costs you 1 soul point. Whether you fall into lava, starve, get ambushed by a creeper, or are killed by another player, the penalty is the same. There are no exceptions.
PvP Death: Money Loss
Dying to another player carries an additional financial penalty. A percentage of your balance is destroyed (not transferred to the killer) based on your current wealth:
- Under 1,000 coins: 5% of your balance is destroyed
- 1,000 - 10,000 coins: 10% of your balance is destroyed
- Over 10,000 coins: 15% of your balance is destroyed
This money is permanently removed from the economy. It does not go to the player who killed you.
Soul Shatter
When your soul points reach 0, you are temporarily banned from the server. The ban duration escalates with each occurrence:
- First shatter: 1 hour ban
- Second shatter: 6 hour ban
- Third shatter and beyond: 24 hour ban
After the ban expires, you rejoin the server with 5 soul points and your shatter count increases by one. Your inventory and claims remain intact during the ban.
Soul Regeneration
Soul points regenerate at a rate of +1 soul point per 2 hours of active playtime. AFK time does not count toward regeneration. The server tracks your movement, block interactions, and combat activity to determine whether you are actively playing.
Death Broadcasts
All deaths on Soulwyn are broadcast server-wide with approximate coordinates. When a player dies, every online player sees a message revealing the general area of the death. This creates opportunities for scavenging and adds tension to every encounter.
