Dynamic Events
Soulwyn's world is never static. Dynamic events occur on randomized schedules, creating unpredictable opportunities and dangers that draw players together and fuel conflict.
Meteorite
Every 24 to 48 hours, a meteorite crashes into a random location in the overworld. The impact creates an obsidian crater and spawns a loot chest containing valuable materials. A server-wide broadcast announces the approximate crash coordinates.
The loot chest can contain:
- Meteorite Shards (used in advanced crafting recipes)
- Diamonds and Netherite Scraps
- Random scrolls and custom items
- Rare crafting materials
The meteorite and its loot chest despawn after 15 minutes, so players must race to the crash site. Expect heavy PvP competition at every meteorite landing.
Eclipse
Once per week, the server enters a 30-minute eclipse. During this period the sky turns dark, hostile mobs spawn at 3x their normal rate, and elite variants appear with enhanced health and damage. The death penalty during an eclipse is doubled: each death costs 2 soul points instead of 1.
Eclipses are announced 5 minutes before they begin, giving players time to seek shelter or prepare for the onslaught. Elite mobs drop enhanced loot, making eclipses both extremely dangerous and extremely rewarding for those who survive.
Wandering Merchant
Every 6 to 12 hours, a Wandering Merchant NPC spawns at a random location and a server-wide hint is broadcast with approximate coordinates. The merchant carries a limited stock of rare items not available through normal crafting, including the Serum of Resilience, exclusive enchantment books, and unique decorative blocks.
The merchant disappears after 1 hour or when their stock runs out, whichever comes first. Stock is shared across all players, so first-come-first-served applies. Like meteorites, merchant spawns are PvP hotspots.
Rumors
Every 15 to 30 minutes, a mysterious broadcast appears in chat. These rumors are generated from real server data and hint at actual events happening on the server. Rumors might reference:
- A player who recently accumulated a large coin balance
- An alliance that just claimed new territory
- A region with high player activity
- A player carrying valuable items in a certain area
Rumors are intentionally vague but always based on truth. Savvy players learn to read between the lines and act on the information before others do.
Events are PvP hotspots. Expect fights at every meteorite and merchant.
